Answering 4:89, 9:5 and Some Non Muslim Questions.

Image result for quran

This is a follow up on my earlier post today. Just a couple of points.

To some of you obviously non Muslims, I do not blame you if  you only know the "Islam" that you see on TV, read about in the media or see with your own eyes.

The suicide bombers, the endless rituals, the polygamy, the black ninjas, the beardos etc.

This is what you know of Islam.

That is actually boring because we all already know those things.

Everyone watches TV, reads the Press and we can see those things with our own eyes.

You are not saying anything new.

What I am doing is completely different. I am telling you what is written in the Quran and what is not written in the Quran.  This will be new information for you, especially the non Muslims, unless of course you too have been studying the Quran.

So for the non Muslim, this is actually a chance to be better informed.

Do compare what is written in the Quran with what you already know about Islam.

My contention is it will never ever tally.

What is written in the Quran and what is practised as the religion are like chalk and cheese, north and south or (another extreme) like heaven and hell.

The two are just not the same.

Let me repeat : what you know of the "religion" of Islam that you see on TV, read in the Press etc is NOT THE SAME as what is written in the Quran.

This you must understand. If you cannot understand this or if you cannot see this, then well, thank you for reading my blog.

Two readers have sent comments asking about the Surah 4:89 and the Surah 9:5.

The reader who quotes 4:89 is actually trying to say that yes, the Quran makes permissible the killing of apostates.

Firstly if what you think is true, then you have proven a contradiction in the Quran.  What does this imply? If you are a Muslim, it means that you have just dumped your own Quran in the dustbin.

Let me reassure you, there are no contradictions in the Quran. It is a very carefully written book.

If you have doubts about any verse in the Quran, please read a few verses before and after, to get the context of what you are reading. Just like any other book.

So here are Surah 4:88 until 4:91 translated in English:

4:88 Why should you divide yourselves into two groups regarding hypocrites (among you)? Allah is the one who condemned them because of their own behavior. Do you want to guide those who are sent astray by Allah? Whomever Allah sends astray, you can never find a way to guide them.

4:89 They wish that you disbelieve as they have disbelieved, then you become equal. Do not consider them friends, unless they mobilize along with you in the cause of Allah. If they turn against you, you shall fight them, and you may kill them when you encounter them in war. You shall not accept them as friends, or allies.*

4:90 Exempted are those who join people with whom you have signed a peace treaty, and those who come to you wishing not to fight you, nor fight their relatives. Had Allah willed, He could have permitted them to fight against you. Therefore, if they leave you alone, refrain from fighting you, and offer you peace, then Allah gives you no excuse to fight them.

4:91 You will find others who wish to make peace with you, and also with their people. However, as soon as war erupts, they fight against you. Unless these people leave you alone, offer you peace, and stop fighting you, you may fight them when you encounter them. Against these, we give you a clear authorization.

These verses above describe war, fighting, peace treaties, people who keep the treaty, break treaties and such. This is NOT about apostasy.

Someone else quoted Surah 9:5. Same argument. Please read from Surah 9:1 until Surah 9:6 for the context and what is going on.

9:1 An ultimatum is herein issued from Allah and His messenger to the idol worshipers who enter into a treaty with you.

9:2 Roam the earth freely for four months, and know that you cannot escape from Allah, and that Allah humiliates the disbelievers.

9:3 A proclamation is herein issued from Allah and His messenger to all the people on the great day of hajj, that Allah has disowned the idol worshipers, and so did His messenger. Thus, if you repent, it would be better for you. But if you turn away, then know that you can never escape from Allah. Promise those who disbelieve a painful retribution.

9:4 If the idol worshipers sign a peace treaty with you, and do not violate it, nor band together with others against you, you shall fulfill your treaty with them until the expiration date. Allah loves the righteous.

9:5 Once the Sanctioned Months are past, (and they refuse to make peace) you may kill the idol worshipers when you encounter them, punish them, and resist every move they make. If they repent and observe the Salat and the Zakat, you shall let them go. Allah is Forgiver, Most Merciful.

9:6 If one of the idol worshipers sought safe passage with you, you shall grant him safe passage, so that he can hear the word of ALLAH,  then send him back to his place of security. That is because they are people who do not know.

Again these verses above describe war, fighting, peace treaties, people who keep the treaty, break treaties and such.

These verse are NOT about apostasy or killing apostates.     Please note this, the Quran says :   If one of the idol worshipers sought safe passage with you, you shall grant him safe passage.

In huge contradiction, the insane religion you watch on TV or read about in the Press says kill the prisoners and rape their women (it is halal they say to rape female "captives" of war).

So once again, I merely present here the verses from the Quran and what they say.

This is new information for many, many of you including Muslims as well as non Muslims. Few people know what is really written in the Quran.

Now you should take this new information from the Quran and compare it with what you know about the "Islam" that you see on TV and in the newspapers.

Knowing what is the truth may be of profit to everyone, including non Muslims.
Wallowing in the falsehood may bring great loss to everyone, including non Muslims.
