Audit on Felda’s land deal to be completed under 30 days - Shahrir

The forensic audit on the Kuala Lumpur Vertical City (KLVC) project being developed by Synergy Promenade Sdn Bhd on land owned by Felda in Jalan Semarak or Jalan Sultan Yahya Petra is expected to be completed earlier than the anticipated 30 days.
This was disclosed by Felda chairperson Shahrir Abdul Samad who said that all the necessary documents had been handed over to the external audit firm appointed by the Prime Minister’s Department.
“The Prime Minister (Najib Razak) gave a 30-day period. The process can be expedited because all the documents are available.
“On the first day, they (the appointed audit firm) will study the documents presented to them and, if necessary, they will come here (to the Felda headquarters) to look for other documents,” he said to reporters when met at Menara Felda in Kuala Lumpur.
He was asked to comment on the first-day development at the audit firm which had been given the responsibility to undertake the forensic audit of all activities, actions and decisions related to the implementation of the project, particularly on the main issue of the transfer of the ownership of the Felda land title to the project developer.
Last Thursday, Najib announced that an external audit firm had been appointed to undertake a forensic audit following an allegation that Felda was at risk of losing ownership of its land valued at RM200 million through an alleged controversial transaction in 2015 pertaining to the implementation of the KLVC project.
A full report on the investigation by the audit firm, which encompasses the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Land and Mines Department, and Kuala Lumpur City Hall, will be presented to the Prime Minister’s Department.
