Cops probe report of attempted kidnapping at Pandan Indah

Two men in a van are believed to have tried to abduct Form 1 boy waiting for bus.

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have begun investigations into last Friday’s kidnapping attempt on a schoolboy from a secondary school in Pandan Indah here.

The case has gone viral on social media.

According to a police report, the Form One pupil was waiting for a bus in Jalan Pandan Indah about noon when two men in a white van attempted to abduct him.

The boy managed to escape and alerted his school authorities.

Ampang police chief ACP Hamzah Alias said police had received a report on the incident.

“We are in the midst of checking events leading to the incident.

“So far, we do not have any witness or closed-circuit television camera footage to facilitate our investigations.

“However, we have opened an investigation into the case under Section 363 of the Penal Code for kidnapping,” he said when contacted here today. -FMT
