Live up to 'best democracy claim' and debate Dr M, PM Najib told

Pakatan Harapan Youth will organise a debate between Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Harapan chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Harapan Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said the debate would allow the people to evaluate the policies offered by both BN and Harapan.

"We believe that this is what the public wants to see. The debate will allow voters to make a comparison," Nik Nazmi told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.

He said an invitation would be extended to Najib this week and the date of the debate would be determined once a response was received.

"The prime minister has said Malaysia is the best democracy in the world. So he should not be afraid to debate," said Nik Nazmi.

Last year, Bersatu had invited Najib to the 'Nothing to Hide 2.0' debate in Shah Alam but he did not turn up.

Moments after Mahathir spoke at the event, chairs, slippers and flares were thrown about in the venue, resulting in a fracas.

Following the event, Mahathir mooted a 'Nothing to Hide 3.0' debate, again challenging Najib to show up. The PM has not responded.
