A company director, businessman and technician have been remanded for six days in connection with theft of ‘drop fibre cable’ belonging to Telekom Malaysia (TM).
The remand order applied by Negeri Sembilan Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) prosecuting officer Mohd Khairi Abdul Karim was issued by Special Remand Court assistant registrar Nur Hayatie Mohd Saini today.
The suspects aged between 30 and 47 were detained at different locations yesterday.
The businessman and company director were detained at Bukit Intan and state MACC office in Seremban at 11.40 am and 5.30 pm respectively, while the technician, at the Johor MACC at 11 pm.
The trio are suspected of abetting TM staff in receiving bribes totaling RM4,250 between 2016 and March 2017, as gratification for bringing out the cables to be sold.
