Pahang Crown Prince Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah has expressed unhappiness with Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar.
This was after Mahfuz compared the 87-year-old Sultan Ahmad Shah's bedridden state in response to criticisms on whether 92-year-old Dr Mahathir Mohamad was fit to be Pakatan Harapan's prime ministerial candidate.
"As a Malay, we are taught to respect our elders. My father is older than him and a sultan, don't (speak) out of turn," Tengku Abdullah was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia.
Tengku Abdullah is currently serving as the Regent of Pahang.
He also expressed anger over a leaked video of his father in bed.
"I am very angry and slighted by (the circulation of) the video, which was recorded by people within the palace itself.
"I will take action," he said after visiting fire victims in Kuantan today.
Yesterday, Pahang Umno leaders criticised Mahfuz for his comment made at a ceramah, accusing him of insulting the monarch. However, Mahfuz denied this.- Mkini
