PAS leaders have rubbished claims that the party's headquarters in Kuala Lumpur will be sold soon.
Instead, they say the party intends to add seven more floors to the five-storey building.
However, careful planning is required to fulfil City Hall requirements and to raise the necessary funds.
"There are a lot of things to consider including local government rules such as the number of car parks and fees required," PAS vice-president Iskandar Samad (photo) told Malaysiakini today.
However, he said the plan will not come to fruition anytime soon because of the amount of preparation needed.
Meanwhile, PAS central committee member Muktar Suhaili said those who are spreading rumours that the building was about to be auctioned were those out to tarnish the party's good name.
"After the allegation about the RM90 million proved futile, they came up with something else to create a negative perception towards PAS," said Muktar on his Facebook page today.
PAS had acquired its building in 2007 reportedly for RM6.1 million from the now-defunct Kwong Yik Bank. - mkini
