Social media research firm Politweet.Org has found that support for BN among new voters has increased based on its observations on Twitter.
As for the predicted leaning of new voters in the peninsula for the first quarter of 2017, the research firm found that 45 percent of the voters leaned towards BN, 44 percent towards the opposition and 11 percent were fence sitters.
“This is because of the high proportion of new Malay voters in areas that saw stronger support for BN in GE13,” it said.
As for existing voters, support for BN increased from 38 percent to 39 percent in the first quarter of 2017 whereas support for the opposition remains unchanged from GE13 at 44 percent.
