Wan Azizah sad Agong who pardoned her husband resigned

Deputy Prime Minister Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail today expressed her sadness over the resignation of Sultan Muhammad V as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, saying that he was the one who pardoned her husband.
On that note, she said the federal administration, however, respects the decision made by the King.
"We respect the Yang di-Pertuan Agong's decision.
"However, I feel sad as he was the King when we (Pakatan Harapan) came into power. He was the King who swore-in the new prime minister (and cabinet members) during the historical change of government.
"The Yang di-Pertuan Agong was also the one who pardoned my husband (Anwar Ibrahim)," she told reporters at an event held at the International Islamic University Malaysia campus in Gombak this evening.
Wan Azizah was commenting on Sultan Muhammad V's resignation, which was announced in a statement released by the Comptroller of the Royal Household earlier today.
Asked when Putrajaya came to know about the Agong's decision to resign, she said they were only alerted to it by the palace's statement.
Sultan Muhammad V, who is the Kelantan ruler, was elected as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong on Dec 13, 2016.
Following Harapan's winning of the 14th general election on May 9, it formed a federal government with its chairperson Dr Mahathir Mohamad sworn in as the country's seventh prime minister.
Anwar, who is Harapan de facto leader and agreed to by the ruling coalition to be Mahathir's successor, was in prison until he was given a full pardon by the Agong on May 16 last year. - Mkini
