Boys unhurt after being flung out of car in highway collision

The boys being embraced by their mother and sister after the crash which saw them flung out of the car.
GEORGE TOWN: Two boys who were flung out of their car in an accident on the North-South Expressway last Saturday stunned onlookers by immediately getting to their feet, with police later confirming that neither of them had been hurt.
In the incident which occurred at 12.30pm near Nibong Tebal, the boys, aged 11 and 13, were in the Proton Saga car with their mother and 21-year-old sister.
Dash cam footage from another car showed a Proton Waja approaching on the fast lane before appearing to lose control and slamming into the rear of the Saga.
Both cars careened off the expressway and came to a halt after crashing into the guardrail. The boys could be seen flying out of the car and landing on the road, following which they immediately stood up.
Police said neither boy was hurt although they were reportedly in shock after the incident.
South Seberang Perai police chief Abdul Shafee Abdul Ahmad said the boys had been seated at the back of the Saga while their sister was in the front passenger seat.
The driver of the Waja, a 34-year-old woman from China now living in Perai, suffered injuries to her neck and leg. Her twin sons, aged six, who were with her in the car, were unhurt.
Shafee said an immediate summons had been issued to the Waja driver, who is being investigated for reckless driving under the Road Transport Act 1987. - FMT
