KUALA LUMPUR: PKR president Anwar Ibrahim today rubbished allegations that Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad had interfered in the SRC International trial of Najib Razak, following reports that Umno Supreme Council member Lokman Noor Adam had made claims to that effect.
“He can allege, but the judicial process is free and clean,” he told reporters in Parliament without specifying names.
“I do not want to get involved, but there was a judge’s decision ordering Najib to enter his defence, so the legal process is ongoing.
“I don’t think we should entertain allegations unless they can give facts or evidence in support. Otherwise, we should allow due process to proceed.”
Najib was yesterday told to enter his defence for seven charges of criminal breach of trust, abuse of power and money laundering in relation to the transfer of RM42 million to his account from SRC International.
Mahathir later denied interfering in the case, saying his accusers should provide proof to back their claims. - FMT
