Sabah Chief Minister Shafie Apdal has denied that his party Warisan had blocked BN from entering kampung in Kimanis to campaign.
He questioned if BN candidate for Kimanis by-election Mohamad Alamin has evidence for making such claim.
"Where got? We did not block ?" he told media after attending a Christmas and New Year event at Bongawan Estate today.
"When we attending the Christmas (celebration) event, they were saying all sort of things.
"Have you got evidence or not? If you got the evidence, you just tell us," he said.
He said Warisan has no fear of BN campaigning in the kampung area.
"Why should we worry about us? To us, let's have a fair fight," said Karim.
Meanwhile, Warisan candidate for the Kimanis by-election, Karim Bujang, also denied that his team on the ground blocked BN from campaigning.
"I don't think it is true. If what they told is true, the police is there for them to make a report," he said.
In a talk last night, Mohamad, who is fondly known as Tok Moh or Datuk Moh, alleged BN campaign machinery was blocked from entering the village area.
Without naming any party, Mohamad said the opponent was getting more aggressive and violent.
Shafie also lamented that the organiser of the Christmas and New Year event today chose not to put a backdrop on the stage to avoid controversy.
He was referring to the previous Christmas and New Year celebration that he attended on Jan 4, the first day of the Kimanis poll campaign.
Umno has alleged that Warisan had organised a lucky draw event to fish votes.
Warisan claimed the event was organised by Membakut Kadazan Dusun Murut community.
The event today saw some 500 people treated with meal with mineral waters.
When approached by media, Sabah Infrastructure Development Minister and KDN Malaysia president Peter Anthony declined to reveal who is the organiser of the event.
It is learnt that local community in Bongawan Estate organised the celebration.
The Kimanis by-election saw Warisan's Karim and BN's Mohamad faced off with each other.
Karim was a five-term Bongawan state assemblyperson from 1990 to 2013 and he was succeeded by Mohamad.
Mohamad, however, failed to retain Bongawan state seat in the 2018 general election. - Mkini
