BEAUFORT: Parti Warisan Sabah president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal (pic) has reminded Kimanis constituents to vote for the candidate who can voice their needs ahead of the parliamentary by-election on Saturday (Jan 18).
In his last call for voters to show their support to Parti Warisan Sabah candidate Datuk Karim Bujang, the state Chief Minister said it was time for a shift from the past government's practices.
He said the Warisan-led state government wants the people to benefit from the state's resources.
"Though Warisan is a young state government, last year and this year, we have introduced a lot of things, including the RM52mil scholarship budget to send Sabahans for further studies.
"We are also now able to send government officers to renowned institutes like Cambridge University, whereas this was not possible in the past.
"The revenues we have collected are being spread among the people, not the leaders. If we practise this, the people will continue giving us the mandate to lead.
"But leaders who are only enjoying the revenues from resources themselves, will be defeated in the next (general) election," he told reporters on Friday (Jan 17) after meeting constituents in Binsulok, Membakut.
Karim will be in a straight fight with Barisan Nasional candidate Mohamad Alamin. - Star
