PETALING JAYA: Health Minister Dr Adham Baba today confirmed 117 new Covid-19 cases, 80 of which are linked to the Sri Petaling mosque cluster.
This brings the total number of those who have tested positive for the virus to 790.
Adham also said of the figure, 15 patients are warded at the Intensive Care Unit.
He disclosed that 11 more patients have recovered and been discharged, bringing the total to 60.
Yesterday, two deaths were recorded, involving a 34-year-old who attended the Sri Petaling mosque tabligh convention at the end of last month and a 60-year-old pastor from Sarawak.
About 16,000 people, including 1,500 foreigners, were reported to have attended the tabligh gathering.
The latest figures bring the total number of participants testing positive for the virus to 513.
Worldwide, the Covid-19 pandemic has led to over 8,000 deaths and close to 200,000 cases of infection.
Adham also said that under the movement control order (MCO), which took effect today, visitors are not allowed to enter hospital wards unless it is an emergency or it is absolutely necessary. - FMT
