A total of 27 PKR leaders and members have either been sacked or left the party on their own will in the wake of what was described as alleged treachery from within their ranks that led to Pakatan Harapan's downfall.
PKR chief organising secretary Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said the party's political bureau at its meeting last night noted the list of those who had left, as well as 12,896 new members approved between Jan 1 and March 11.
Nik Nazmi said the list of individuals sacked from PKR as of March 11 included former deputy president Azmin Ali, former central leadership council member Zuraida Kamaruddin, as well as two others who were sacked on March 1.
"(The decision to sack was) based on evidence gathered through social media, video recordings, media announcements and others," he said, adding that based on similar evidence, four other members are in the process of being sacked from PKR.
Aside from all nine PKR MPs who announced their departure along with Azmin and Zuraida (photo), the list also comprises three state assemblypersons - Abdul Aziz Jamhari (Kuala Kurau), Chong Fat Full (Pemanis) and Muhammad Hilman Idham (Gombak Setia).
Other notable names listed included Zuraida's political secretary Noor Hizwan Ahmad.
Since their exit, Azmin and a majority of the former PKR MPs who defected to join the Perikatan Nasional coalition have joined Bersatu and appointed into the new government.
Batu Pahat MP Mohd Rashid Hasnon, who was not on the list of ministers or deputy ministers, is already the Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker.
Meanwhile, former works minister Baru Bian last night said he will not join his colleagues in Bersatu and remain as an Independent Selangau MP.
