Covid-19: Man who left clinic during screening, returns the next day

Malaysiakini

CORONAVIRUS | A man suspected of contracting Covid-19 from a tabligh gathering in Sri Petaling and had disappeared from a clinic in Shah Alam yesterday, has returned to the same clinic this morning.
According to Shah Alam deputy police chief Superintendent Ramsay Embol, the 54-year-old man returned to Klinik Kesihatan Bukit Naga before being transferred to Sungai Buloh hospital.
"He returned to the clinic this morning and the clinic sent him (to the hospital)," Ramsay told Malaysiakini.
In a viral police report filed by a doctor from the clinic yesterday, a medical assistant found the man missing from the clinic at around 1pm.
After being contacted, the man said he would return later but failed to do so on the same day. The clinic was then unable to reach him and deciding to file a report.
Preliminary diagnosis found that the man carried symptoms of Covid-19, and the report mentioned he was involved in the religious gathering at the Sri Petaling Mosque.
The Health Ministry has tripled its estimation of the number of Malaysian attendees at the event.
Based on its investigation, the ministry said there were an estimated 16,000 attendees at the ijtima’ tabligh at the Kuala Lumpur mosque from Feb 27 to Mar 1.
Of this figure, about 14,500 are believed to be Malaysian, an infographic uploaded by Health director-general Noor Hisham Abdullah last night noted.
Earlier this week, he said the number of attendees was estimated to be 10,000 people, of which half were Malaysian. - Mkini
