DISASTER EXACTLY AS PREDICTED : COVID19 INFECTS 84 FRONTLINE DOCTORS, NURSES, STAFF AT TWO HOSPITALS, KKM CLUSTER EMERGING

"Hospital HOD and KKM, why are you spreading covid instead of containing it? What are you people doing?"


Ok just as suspected and already mentioned yesterday (and warned from much earlier by quite a few doctors in the country) the Corona Virus is infecting hospital and medical staff at an alarming rate.  

AFTER THE TABLIG CLUSTER VERY SOON THERE IS GOING TO BE A NEW COVID 19 CLUSTER - THE KKM* CLUSTER  WHICH IS SPREADING FAST THROUGH THE HOSPITALS AND MEDICAL PERSONNEL.

*KKM means Kementerian Kesihatan Malaysia or Ministry of Health, Malaysia.

First the news and a comment by a reader in Sabah (from the earlier post yesterday).

No 1.  TELUK INTAN HOSPITAL PARTLY SHUT DOWN !! 37 STAFF INFECTED !!

Kl (March 25):  Health DG said wards in Teluk Intan Hospital closed 

after 37 of its staff tested positive for COVID-19

Teluk Intan Hospital as a whole is still operating as usual

emergency dept and observation ward of Hospital Teluk Intan closed

DG said total 73 healthcare workers with COVID-19 

of whom 37 are in Teluk Intan so far

hospitals with highest infections : Teluk Intan, Putrajaya, Raja Perempuan Zainab, Tengku Ampuan Rahimah and Selayang

confirmed infections in country 1,796 cases, 20 dead.

No 2. 47 Hospital Staff Infected From Attending Weddings

73 petugas KKM positif Covid-19

KP kata bukan semua disebabkan pengendalian kes Covid-19 di fasiliti kesihatan 

47 kes berkaitan majlis perkahwinan yang dihadiri daripada jemaah tabligh

lain-lain punca petugas kesihatan kontak keluarga yang positif Covid-19

1,895 anggota KKM sudah menjalani ujian pengesahan

1,187 negatif, manakala 708 menunggu keputusan 

tiada yang dikesan positif,” katanya 

KP memohon semua frontliners memaklumkan jika mempunyai kontak :

• ahli Ijtimak Seri Petaling  27 Feb - 3 Mac; atau

• majlis kahwin 6 Mac, Bangi atau 7 Mac di Putrajaya dihadiri anggota KKM

OSTB : This second story is unclear and needs clarification.  

37 staff in Teluk Intan Hospital plus 47 staff (where? in Bangi? in Putrajaya?) adds up to 84 cases.  

But the DG says 73 petugas are positif.

The other question is what exactly are the facts behind these 47 medical personnel who got infected? 

Are they all from one same hospital? 

Or are they from more than one hospital? 

It is not clear.

Did all these 47 medical staff attend the same wedding where individual(s) from the Tablig Cluster were present?

Or did they attend different weddings (in Bangi on 6th March and Putrajaya on 7th March)? 

The statement by the DG of Health is not very clear.

It actually sounds a little obfuscatory - meaning 'slightly cloudy'.

How can 47 medical staff attend the same wedding?

Unless one of their colleagues got married?

Or is it just one or two medical personnel who attended the same wedding or attended different weddings and then took the Corona Virus back to work the next day ?

• One PUI just died today at a govt hospital in east coast Sabah.
• And they put him in the NORMAL WARD, not the covid ward. 
• So the doctors nurses and other related staff MA, cleaners who were on duty while this PUI was still in the normal ward are now all possibly have been infected with covid if truely the PUI had in fact been positive with covid-19. 
• Hospital HOD and KKM, why are you spreading covid instead of containing it? What are you people doing? 
• Your judgement all not aligned with each other with the right thing to do to curb the pandemic. 
• Bear in mind that these doctors, nurses, MA, PPK cleaners they all have families too, they are the sons daughters brothers sisters parents of flesh and blood too just like YOU!

OSTB :  THE NECESSARY SOLUTION

Tuan DG of Health, that is why I say your doctors, nurses and hospital staff must all be checked first lah. 

THEY MUST UNDERGO URGENT SCREENING. 
THEY ARE FRONTLINE.

WHY YOU NO UNDERSTAND? 

ABOVE ALL THE FRONTLINE DOCTORS AND NURSES MUST BE CHECKED - MINIMUM ONCE A WEEK.

The way things are going it looks like the KKM is creating a new cluster - The KKM CLUSTER.   

As the commenter from Sabah above says instead of containing the virus, the hospitals may be helping to spread the virus.
