Good news for Umno Youth chief who came in contact with Covid-19-positive MP

CORONAVIRUS | Umno Youth chief Asyraf Wajdi has tested negative for Covid-19.

The Pasir Puteh MP had gotten himself tested after coming in contact with Bandar Kuching MP Kelvin Yii, who was confirmed to have been infected.

"Alhamdulillah, I received my Covid-19 screening test this morning and the result was negative.

"It was nerve-wracking as the hospital called me at 1am after I have gone to bed.

"When I woke up at 5.30am I realised there was a missed call from the hospital and I immediately called them back and was informed of the screening result," he said in a Facebook statement.

Asyraf said he will continue to remain under quarantine at home with his family in line with the two-week movement control order imposed by the government until March 31.

Asyraf was with Yii at a forum on March 12.

Yii was confirmed to be positive with Covid-19 on March 17, prompting Asyraf to get tested on the same day.

Yii had been in contact with Sarikei MP Wong Ling Biu, who tested positive with Covid-19 on March 15. - Mkini
