It's not a reward - Zuraida says ex-PKR MPs made ministers based on suitability

Malaysiakini
Housing and Local Government Minister Zuraida Kamaruddin has rubbished claims by certain quarters that almost all PKR MPs who left the party to join Perikatan Nasional (PN) were rewarded with positions.
Zuraida (above), who is the Ampang MP, said the former PKR MPs were instead given ministerial positions based on suitability.
"It's not about rewards... There are many (MPs) in the coalition, but of those formerly with PKR, there are only 10 MPs.
"With such a small number, it's easy to fill (the positions)," she told the media in Putrajaya.
When the cabinet line-up was announced two days ago by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, nine out of 10 former PKR MPs were given ministerial positions.
They are aligned to former PKR deputy president Azmin Ali who is now the international trade and industry minister.
During the previous Pakatan Harapan government, Azmin was the economic affairs minister, while Zuraida retained her post under the new PN government.
Out of 10, only Rashid Hasnon is not a minister as he is the Dewan Rakyat deputy speaker.
They exited the party on Feb 24 alongside another PKR MP Baru Bian, who changed his mind to support the former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
