CORONAVIRUS | The Kelantan Health Department has denied that an intensive care unit specialist at the Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital (HRPZII) in Kota Bharu has died from Covid-19.
"(This news) that has been spread is false," said Kelantan Health director Dr Zaini Husin in a statement today.
Zaini also denied rumours that the HRPZII's anesthesiology department had been crippled and declared a "red flag".
He said all clinical services under the anesthesiology department was operational and were focused on ICU treatments and emergency operations.
"All experts and medical officers from the anesthesiology department who are treating Covid-19 are provided with new and functional personal protective equipment and powered air-purifying respirators," he said.
He added that they have been trained on how to use the equipment.
