MELAKA: Lendu assemblyman Datuk Sulaiman Md Ali is set to be the 12th Melaka Chief Minister.
Sulaiman, 55, will be sworn-in at 3pm on Monday (March 9) before Yang-di Pertua Tun Dr Mohd Khalil Yaakob.
He is also the Masjid Tanah Umno liaison committee secretary since 2013.
Melaka MIC chairman Datuk M. S. Mahadevan said he was told by Barisan Nasional leaders on Monday morning that Sulaiman is the new Chief Minister.
He said Sulaiman is a man of few words and likes to mingle around with the grassroots of various races.
"I am confident he (Sulaiman) will be Chief Minister for all Melakans.
"Locals also hope the new Chief Minister resolves the water rationing issue since Jan 29 once coming into office," he added. - Star
