Mukhriz says not been told how long he has to consider Perikatan offer

ALOR SETAR: Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir says he has not been told how long he had to consider an offer to join Perikatan Nasional.

The Kedah Mentri Besar also said there had been no negotiations between Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin on the state's leadership.

Speaking in response to the story "Mukhriz has a month to accept Perikatan offer" in The Star Monday (March 16), Mukhriz said,"To my knowledge, there have been no negotiations between Dr Mahathir and Muhyiddin."

Mukhriz said he knew that Muhyiddin wanted to meet Dr Mahathir, but "Tun (Dr Mahathir) still did not feel it was a suitable time to meet."

Mukhriz was speaking to journalists after chairing a special state disaster committee meeting at Wisma Darul Aman on Monday.

The meeting was aimed at drafting action plans that will be taken to contain the Covid-19 outbreak in the state.

Those who attended the meeting included exco members, assemblymen (including from the Opposition), heads of government departments and representatives from all districts in the state. - Star
