Report: Kinrara Puchong resident tests negative for Covid-19

CORONAVIRUS | Further blood tests have cleared a patient hailing from Kinrara, Puchong of Covid-19, reported Chinese-language daily Sinchew.

According to the report, the patient tested negative for the virus after three consecutive blood tests at Hospital Sungai Buloh and has since been discharged.

Quoting Yan Wan Shun, the joint management board chairperson of the condominium where the patient lives, the patient had initially tested positive for Covid-19 on March 9 at Hospital Serdang.

The next day, the patient was rushed to Hospital Sungai Buloh, the government’s designated facility for Covid-19 cases.

There, doctors found the initial test result to be a false positive.

“However, when the resident (patient) was sent to Hospital Sungai Buloh for treatment, including a blood test, the test was negative.

“To be sure, the hospital did the blood test three times, and the patient tested negative for all three,” he said.

The chairperson added that the apartment where the patient lives has since been cleaned and disinfected.

"Cleaners continue to do so every day," he said.

The news report featured photographs of hand sanitisers at the apartment and of cleaners wiping down the elevators.

Yan further advised residents and the public to not panic and hoped those living in the same apartment would not be shunned at work or in schools. - Mkini
