Sarawak records two more Covid-19 deaths

KUCHING: Sarawak announced two new Covid-19 deaths today, involving a 49-year-old man from Kuching and a 51-year-old woman from Limbang.

The state disaster management committee said the man’s mother had died due to the virus on March 18, and his 40-year-old sister had also died on March 21 at the Sarawak General Hospital.

The woman from Limbang was a close contact of a member who attended the tabligh gathering at the Sri Petaling mosque in Kuala Lumpur from Feb 27 to March 1.

She was admitted to the Limbang hospital after testing positive on March 14 before being transferred to the Miri Hospital the same day.

The death toll in the state now stands at five, the committee said.

The committee’s chairman, Douglas Uggah, also said six new cases were reported today, bringing the total to 82. All six cases were from Kuching and admitted at the Sarawak General Hospital. - FMT
