CORONAVIRUS | Sarawak has announced that it will implement a 14-day quarantine on all travellers, including Sarawakians, arriving in the state.
This was among the measures that were announced by Chief Minister Abang Johari Openg at a press conference today.
Previously, Sarawak only imposed quarantine measures on its residents and permanent residents who were arriving from China, South Korea, Iran and Italy, the four countries with some of the highest number of Covid-19 cases.
However, foreign travellers who have visited these four countries are banned from entering Sarawak while other Malaysians are not encouraged to visit the state.
Meanwhile, Abang Johari also announced that school holidays would be extended for one week.
Additionally, he said that all public sports facilities would be closed from tomorrow onward.
He strongly advises that the public activities attended by more than 50 people be postponed.
