KUALA LUMPUR: Sime Darby Bhd has announced that its group CEO Datuk Jeffri Salim Davidson is currently quarantined after testing positive for Covid-19.
During this period, group CFO Mustamir Mohamad has assumed the responsibilities of the group CEO.
In a statement issued today, the group said Jeffri Salim had not visited any Sime Darby premises in the last 16 days, and all known employees in contact with him during this period have been placed under self-quarantine and undergoing the requisite medical examinations.
"SDB is working with the relevant authorities to ensure the health and safety of its employees, including undertaking contact tracing to determine those who have been in contact with the GCEO," it said.
The group has initiated its business continuity plan and all its Malaysia-based employees will work remotely.
Across the rest of the Group’s operations in Asia Pacific, Sime Darby has instituted its business continuity plans accordingly to ensure minimal disruptions to operations. - Star
