The Yang diPertuan Agong Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah has urged Malaysians to abide by the movement control order imposed by the government.
"Don't leave home if there are no pressing matters. Don't balik kampung unless it is an emergency.
"I also advise the people not to panic, the government has assured there is enough supply of goods.
"Don't spread fake news," the king said in a brief televised address.
He also urged Malaysians to avoid social activities and postpone wedding receptions.
He added that most importantly, people should mind their personal hygiene by washing their hands often, using hand santisers, wearing face masks, and practising social distancing.
The two-week movement control order, which ends on March 31, aims to prevent new infections of Covid-19 by waiting out the incubation period.
As of noon today, there were 1,030 cases of infections with 26 being treated in intensive care units. - Mkini
