CORONAVIRUS | Top Glove Corporation Berhad yesterday donated 70,000 pairs of gloves to the government agencies that are directly involved in combating the Covid-19 pandemic.
Penang General Hospital received 50,000 pairs of gloves while the rest went to the police, Penang Island City Council (MBPP) and Seberang Perai City Council (MBSP), according to the Penang state government's Buletin Mutiara.
The gloves were handed over by Top Glove production manager Chan Siao Yun to the political secretary to the Penang chief minister, Teh Lai Heng.
The contribution portrayed the solidarity of the private sector with the government to fight the pandemic, Teh said.
"We welcome the initiative taken for the sake of the harmony and security of the nation," added the Komtar state assemblyperson.
The ceremony also saw 300 sets of protective clothing given to the Penang General Hospital. - Mkini
