Water supply is fully restored in six of the seven districts affected by an odour pollution incident in Sungai Selangor yesterday.
Water in Kuala Selangor has achieved 100 percent restoration as of 7am today, said Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) corporate communications head Abdul Halem Mat Som.
However, he said the water supply in Klang district can only be restored by 6pm today.
The affected areas included Meru, Perepat, Taman Samudera, Bukit Kapar, Jalan Kapar Bt 1-5, Kampung Teluk Gong, Kapar, Kampung Pulau Indah, Pulau Ketam, Sementa and Perindustrian Pulau Indah Fasa 1.
"Air Selangor has mobilised its water tankers to the affected areas," he said in a statement today.
He said all four water treatment plants affected by the pollution were back at work by 10.30pm yesterday.
The water treatment plants that resumed operation are three water treatment plants in Sungai Selangor (SSP1, SSP2 and SSP3) and Rantau Panjang water treatment plant.
"As of 7am today, the water supply in Kuala Selangor has been restored 100 percent," he said.
He urged the consumer to use water diligently to ensure a smooth process of water supply restoration process at the affected area.
Yesterday, residents in Klang Valley were dismayed to learn that they could face water disruption when they were bracing for the restriction movement order, which was imposed from March 18 to March 31 in a bid to contain the Covid-19 outbreak.
