YOURSAY | 'Say all you want, defend all you want, you are not the government that the people want.'
Federal Bakery: No, MCA president Wee Ka Siong, the same system that brought in Pakatan Harapan did not bring you in.
The Harapan victory in 2018 was a historical achievement. It altered perceptions and political paradigms that would have taken this country in directions that you and your present mob will never understand.
We are now subject to a government of doubtful legitimacy. You are simply a convenient stooge to the usurpers - the proverbial blind Chinese man with wool firmly stuck in your eyes.
FlabberPro: Just call a spade a spade. No matter what you say Wee, this is a backdoor government. A power grab and an illegitimate government not voted in by the people.
Say all you want, defend all you want, you are not the government that the people want.
How can a sole Chinese person like you represent the rest of us minorities? How does that reflect diversity? You are obviously living in denial.
Quigonbond: Wee, call it whatever you want, it is still a Malay-Muslim government. It is their avowed political raison d’etre for coming through the backdoor because they alleged Harapan is not Malay enough.
If you are really sincere then you must either disavow that allegation or otherwise defend Harapan as being equally representative of Malaysians.
This government emerges through a power grab and comes with get-out-of-jail-free cards.
It may not happen yet, but in time when the public is distracted with other things – former premier Najib Abdul Razak and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will walk free.
Anonymous_1547638541238.97951547637684420: We did not vote for this Perikatan Nasional (PN) coalition.
We voted for Harapan. We are annoyed that Bersatu can simply pull out from Harapan and join forces with the parties we voted against in GE14. We look at this as a betrayal of the voters.
We consider that forming a government with parties we rejected is unethical as our views were not sought. Wee, I hope you get this.
Headhunter: Wee said he was amazed by the maturity of Malaysia's democracy and he was proud that there can be a bloodless transition of power.
We didn't elect a backdoor government. To say you are proud shows that you don't give a hoot about democracy, neither do you respect the voters' choice. If you are trying to fool us, don't.
Sentinel: This is an administration that colluded to ‘steal’ the mandate of the people which was given to Harapan and divided the spoils amongst the conspirators. In other words, this is a government built upon lies and treachery.
Do not try to change the subject by utilising the standard racial tropes. As for the haters, cynics and opponents of Harapan, you're all part of the problem. You can't even wait for a fair election.
Anonymous_2679c6e5: Wee, you are in delusion when you can’t see that this is a Malay-Muslim government that does not reflect the multiracial composition of Malaysia.
You are a traitor and disgrace to your race, and you accept your place as a display token.
Anonymous122266: Please don't try to lecture us on what is or what is not a backdoor government. PN is definitely a backdoor government without any dignity as it is not a government voted by rakyat in GE14.
Wee, you have been talking too much. Could you please resign as a minister if you can't get PN to recognise the Unified Examination Certificate (UEC), obtain allocation of RM60 million for Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (Taruc), resolve the khat and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) issues.
Anonymous_1547638166059.10451547637684383: Wee, your duty is to:
1. Fight for the recognition of UEC.
2. Make sure you do task number 1.
3. Tell your backdoor government to grant the money to Taruc which you accused former finance minister Lim Guan Eng of unfairly penalising TAR.
Who said Harapan was in tatters? It was because of Bersatu playing out Harapan and Dr Mahathir Mohamad. Now you are working together with the traitors who have no guts to convene the parliament as early as possible.
Enjoy your new post and we will see what will happen to you in GE15.
Norman Fernandez: Wee has always pandered to his political masters. Any wonder he has never contested in a Chinese-majority area, and he is the MCA president.
Idiocracy: The people, especially the non-Malays, need to evolve politically. Both sides are not viable long-term solutions.
Even though Harapan-DAP may be seen to be the 'best option', it still forms a bunch of terrible options.
Malaysian politics need to innovate and evolve. It is through adversity and seemingly no other way, that's when they will find a way. That's when they will overcome.
Anyhow, all these are happening for a good reason. “Reform” will take place organically.
A lot of these imbalances were caused by post-1969 policies. It needs to end with real regulatory reforms that will uproot those post-1969 racial policies. - Mkini
