Covid-19: TTDI market ordered partially closed until June

KUALA LUMPUR: Some 40 lots at the Pasar Besar Taman Tun Dr Ismail have been ordered to close starting Tuesday (May 19) by Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL).
DBKL said the closure would not involve the entire market; only specific stalls.
According to a notice, traders operating lots TS1-TS40, TS33A, TS34A and TS131 must cease trading until June 1.
“The Health Ministry screened some traders for Covid-19 and are awaiting results. The closure is a precautionary measure, ” a DBKL spokesman said.
Enforcement can be taken under the Local Government Act 1976, the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988, the Police Act 1967, and the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases (Measures within the Infectious Territory) 2020.
This follows the closure of Pasar Raja Bot in Chow Kit on April 29 after several market traders, who had visited Pasar Borong Kuala Lumpur, tested positive for Covid-19.
Pasar Raja Bot is still closed until further notice. - Star
