PLUS reopens NKVE stretch, but some areas still under water

PLUS says its workers are clearing up roads, removing stranded cars, conducting inspections and carrying out repair works along the highway.

PETALING JAYA: The Shah Alam toll plaza and multi-storey intersection at the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), which were closed on Saturday, are being opened in stages, highway operator PLUS said.

However, it cautioned road users to be vigilant as some areas were still under water.

Head of PLUS operations Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi said its workers were clearing up the roads, removing stranded cars, conducting inspections and carrying out repair works along the highway.

“Although the affected route is opening up in stages, we are advising users to remain vigilant and adhere to road signs because there are a few areas that are still submerged,” he said.

PLUS said the Malaysian Highway Authority, the police and the fire and rescue department were providing much-needed assistance in the clean-up operations.

It advised motorists to monitor the flood status before they begin their travel.
