3 more fatalities in Shah Alam

The bodies of another three male flood victims were found during rescue operations at Sri Muda, Shah Alam, early this morning.

PETALING JAYA: Three more bodies have been found in Sri Muda, Shah Alam, one of the worst hit areas in last weekend’s floods.

According to Bernama, the three male victims were found by civilians and firefighters during rescue efforts early this morning.

Two were found at 1am and another at 5am.

This comes on top of the two deaths reported earlier resulting from the floods, which stemmed from non-stop rain that began on Friday afternoon and which started to subside only on Saturday evening.

Shah Alam police chief Baharudin Mat Taib had said a body of a 30-year-old man had been discovered near Alam Idaman condominium in Shah Alam on Sunday night after the flood waters began to subside.

This morning, another body was found in Kuantan, Pahang. The 34-year-old man was reportedly travelling to Pekan with a friend when the floods hit.

Bernama also reported that more than 41,000 victims had been evacuated to relief shelters across the peninsula as of this morning. - FMT
