PETALING JAYA: As a result of the massive flooding that hit the Klang Valley, Rapid KL has temporarily suspended 68 bus routes from today until further notice.

The suspended routes are mostly in Klang, Shah Alam and Puchong areas.

The Kajang mass rapid transit line will also skip Batu Sebelas station due to the “worsening flood situation” there, the transport operator said in a statement today.

Last night, the Masjid Jamek station along the Kelana Jaya LRT line was shuttered due to flooding. The station is a major transfer station to other transit lines.

Commuters are urged to check Rapid KL’s Facebook and Twitter pages or call 03 7885 2585 before embarking on their journey.

Separately, Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) said the ETS and KTM Komuter services that were interrupted due to a fallen tree were restored at 5.50am earlier today.

It was reported that 927 passengers were stranded after a fallen tree snapped a power supply cable for the trains, bringing coaches in both directions to a halt between the Sungai Buloh and Kepong stations.

KTMB said all ETS services are back to normal, while the Komuter line from Pulau Sepang to Batu Caves is also operational.

However, the Komuter train service on the Port Klang-Tanjung Malim line will stop short of a few stations.

Those taking the train from KL Sentral will be able to go as far as the Subang Jaya station, while those travelling from Port Klang can go as far as the Shah Alam station.

KTMB also announced that it has suspended its east coast rail service to Johor.

The Ekspres Rakyat Timuran (Coaches 26 and 27) via JB Sentral-Tumpat-JB Sentral has also been cancelled with immediate effect. - FMT
