KUALA LUMPUR: Continuous heavy rain is expected to occur today in most parts of the country with Kuala Lumpur, Perak, Pahang and Selangor forecast to be the worst hit.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) through a weather alert issued at 1.40am informed that the areas involved in Perak are Manjung, Kinta, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilir Perak, Batang Padang and Muallim, and Hulu Perak.
In Pahang, the affected areas will be Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong Kuantan, Temerloh, Maran, Pekan, Bera and Rompin.
In Selangor, inclement weather is expected to hit Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Hulu Langat and Sepang.
Areas in Kedah forecast to have continuous heavy rain are Kuala Muda, Kulim, Bandar Baharu, Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Padang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Sik and Baling.
In Negeri Sembilan, bad weather is predicted to hit Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jelebu, Jempol and Tampin while those in Johor will be Tangkak, Segamat, Muar and Batu Pahat.
MetMalaysia also issued a continuous rain alert throughout Perlis; Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai).
Similar weather conditions are also expected to occur throughout Terengganu and Melaka. - FMT
