It looks like all the huffing and puffing by the UK and US over an "imminent" Russian invasion of Ukraine are over. Yesterday NATO shocked the world when the NATO Chief Jens Boltinberg announced that NATO does not see any Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Then the United States of America announced that since there are no mud huts and thatch roofed houses (like in Afghanistan and Vietnam) the US will not be sending any Marines to Ukraine either.
The president of Ukraine the comedian Volodymyr Zelensky (that was his real profession before becoming president) also criticised the west for spooking everyone with the "Russian invasion is imminent" crap.
Mr Putin and Russia have milked this hoo-haa to their max. They just kept quiet. Russia has totally embarrassed the UK and the US who now look really foolish to the Europeans, especially the French and Germans. In American lingo this is 'egg on the face' time.
(Definition of "egg on the face" : appearing foolish because something one said would happen has not happened)
