IPOH: Strong winds ripped off the roofs of several houses and uprooted trees in Tasek here today.

The affected areas are Taman Tasek Damai and Kampung Tawas in Tasek, here. There were no reports of casualties.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department spokesperson said that the department was alerted to the matter at 6.40pm today.

"Upon arrival, several trees had uprooted and the strong winds ripped off the roofs of several houses at these two locations.

"No injuries were reported and work to cut and remove the fallen trees in the affected areas are being carried out," he said adding that the number of affected houses has yet to be determined. -NST
