COVID-19 | The Health Ministry said 16,863 new daily Covid-19 cases were reported yesterday, bringing the total cumulative cases to 4,138,867.
Active cases currently stood at 233,180, down 24.5 percent compared to 14 days ago.

Another 37 deaths attributed to Covid-19 were reported yesterday, of which 6 were declared as 'brought in dead'.
Over the past week, an average of 50.1 people were reported to have died of Covid-19, while the average for the past 30 days was 72.0, indicating that Covid-19 deaths are on the downtrend.
Since the start of the pandemic in March 2020, a total of 34,751 deaths have been attributed to Covid-19.
There have been 2,002 reported Covid-19 deaths this month. For comparison, there were 771 deaths last month and 491 deaths in January.
The state with the highest deaths was Johor (12) followed by Kedah (6), Malacca (4), Negeri Sembilan (4), Selangor (4), Penang (3), Sarawak (2), Perak (1) and Sabah (1), .
There are 5,192 Covid-19 patients who are hospitalised, of whom 299 are in intensive care. - Mkini
