Hadi Awang down with Covid-19

 

PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has been infected with Covid-19.

Party central committee member Muhammad Khalil Abdul Hadi said his 74-year-old father is experiencing mild symptoms.

"Pray for the full recovery of Tuan Guru. He was confirmed with Covid-19 and is experiencing mild symptoms.

"He is now under quarantine and is in good condition," he said on Facebook.

Last year, Hadi (above) had been in and out of the National Heart Institute due to health issues.

He was warded in February after suffering breathing difficulties and again received treatment last June.

During the Johor polls, Hadi was also seen limiting his exposure during the campaign, often appearing with a limited number of people.

In other cases, he was represented by his deputy Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man.

The country is seeing a new wave of infections due to the Omicron variant.

Yesterday, in total, there were 283,276 active Covid-19 cases.

However, they appear to have stabilised after a surge starting last month. - Mkini
