Anyone who tries to change PAS' trajectory or attempts to "scuttle their vessel" will be removed from the party, said PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.
Hadi (above) said PAS has its own unique set of principles - to ensure the supremacy of Islamic laws - guided by the syura council and executed by the central committee.
The syura council and the central committee cannot be instigated to go beyond their mandate described in the party constitution and customs of "jemaah" (congregation).
"It is forbidden for anyone to undo such policies with their shallow intellect, let alone dismantle (it)...
"... Those who fail to (uphold our principles), they will be removed," said Hadi in his regular Minda president (President's thoughts) column posted on his Facebook page.
Hadi said only those who are patient could continue to be with PAS, while those who are not sincere or seek expediency will be removed.
"This can happen to fools or those who are seduced by others along our journey.
"We are obligated to create a group of Muslims who are 'istiqamah' (steadfast) in terms of Islamic principles in order for our vessel to be strong and stay on the right path.
"Anyone who tries to change our course or poke holes (in our ship) will be cast overboard based on God's will," he said.
Taken the 'bia'ah' oath
Hadi's article appeared a day after Khairuddin Aman Razali, who is the Kuala Nerus MP, declared that he was no longer a member of PAS.
Khairuddin has been critical of PAS' leadership in recent months, particularly at PAS leaders who attacked Umno during the recent Johor election campaign.
He is widely seen as a PAS figure who was supportive of PAS' cooperation with Umno through the Muafakat Nasional pact.
PAS' leadership had recently removed Khairuddin as a central committee member and as secretary of the syura council.
In a related development, PAS Youth deputy chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden said every PAS lawmaker had to resign if they left the party.
He said every PAS candidate had taken the "bia'ah" oath before their party leaders, swearing on God's name, to do so.
Afnan said the oath also made candidates swear that all income derived from public office after leaving the party was "haram".
When taking the oath, the candidates acknowledged that they would incur the wrath of God if they left the party as a lawmaker.
Khairuddin called for a press conference to announce that he was leaving PAS yesterday but did not explain his reasons.
Khairuddin also did not refer to his obligations under the "bai'ah" oath. - Mkini
