PETALING JAYA: The PKR candidate in Bukit Batu, Johor, has called for civility in election rivalry in Johor after an image of party president Anwar Ibrahim was defaced.
The image was on an election billboard that featured Anwar and Arthur Chiong.
He said the vandalism had “disrupted the mood of the ongoing campaigning period that has been harmonious and controversy-free so far”.
He urged his party comrades not to retaliate with any act that can smear the party’s name.
“Let us channel our rage in our campaigning efforts in the final days before election day,” he said.
He urged political rivals to compete in a healthy manner and let the democratic process run peacefully.
