PETALING JAYA: Police have arrested 17 men who were allegedly involved in a brawl in front of an entertainment outlet at Bandar Utama Batu 6 in Sandakan, Sabah, last Saturday.
The men, aged 19 to 40, were arrested yesterday after a video of the incident made its rounds on social media, reported Sinar Harian.
Sandakan district deputy police chief Mohd Hamizi Halim said the fight occurred at about 11.30pm, and all the 17 suspects have been remanded to assist in the investigation.
“The cause of the brawl is being investigated,” he said.
The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting and carries a punishment of up to two years in jail or a fine, or both, upon conviction. - FMT
