47 areas in Petaling to experience water cuts on June 21

 

Air Selangor said it would be mobilising water tankers to the affected areas.

PETALING JAYA: Some 47 areas in Petaling will experience water cuts for up to 24 hours later this month, Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor) announced today.

The company said this is due to upgrading work that is scheduled to be carried out to improve the water supply system at the Bukit Dengkil Reservoir.

The water disruption is expected to start at 9am on June 21, with supply to be fully restored at 9am the following morning, it said.

“The duration of the water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the distance of the consumers’ premises and the water pressure at the distribution system,” Air Selangor said in a statement.

It went on to say that it would be mobilising water tankers to the affected areas, with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, dialysis centres and funeral homes.

“We would also like to advise the affected customers to store adequate water supply and use water prudently during the scheduled water supply disruption period.”
