Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said price negotiations for the MySejahtera application will commence soon as it has just been approved by the Attorney-General’s Chambers (AGC).
The government is currently pursuing a contract on the application after it was initially developed and deployed without one.
“The Health Ministry has just received the decision from the AGC to allow price negotiations to take place.
“The results of this negotiation will be tabled to the Finance Ministry and subsequently to the cabinet to be finalised,” Khairy said in a press conference at the Eastin Hotel in Petaling Jaya today.

At the time, the PAC was investigating the government’s engagement with Entomo Malaysia Sdn Bhd (formerly KPISoft Malaysia Sdn Bhd) to develop the application without a contract. Their report on this matter is expected to be tabled in the Dewan Rakyat in July.
Entomo, which initially developed the MySejahtera application as a “corporate social responsibility” effort for the government, sold the licence of the application to MySJ Sdn Bhd for around RM300 million.
The government is now working on acquiring the application but is aiming for a sum that is “much lower than RM300 million”.
Meanwhile, the minister also addressed concerns on medicine supply in the country, saying they are monitoring the situation and that they have performed random checks on health facilities throughout the country.
“Out of the 47 facilities or premises (that underwent a random check), 85 percent reported a shortage of at least one medicine.
“Mostly, the shortage involves medicines for cough, cold, fever and antibiotics for children,” he said.
Previously, Khairy had assured that the medicine supply situation in the country is under control and that the shortages are affecting mainly private health facilities. - Mkini
