PETALING JAYA: More than half of the nearly RM1 million debt that actress Rozita Che Wan owes Mara has been repaid, says its chairman Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
Asyraf said Rozita, better known as Che Ta, had paid RM550,000 up until last Friday, while the execution of a court order for an auction of the celebrity’s personal belongings has been postponed indefinitely.
About 34 of her personal belongings valued at an estimated RM902,000 were scheduled to be auctioned off last Tuesday.
“The remainder of her debt must be paid in full within three months, or before the end of March,” he said in a Facebook post.
On Dec 10, Rozita’s house was reportedly raided by Mara officers, lawyers, and court representatives after she failed to settle a RM960,000 loan from Mara undertaken by her company, RCW Worldwide Sdn Bhd.
The loan was taken in 2017 but Rozita had never made any repayments. - FMT
