In Selangor, state Education Department director Datin Wan Nor Ashikin Abu Kassim said all educational institutions under the ministry would remain closed until further notice.
She said the decision was in line with the MoE's media statement issued today following unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings.
Schools were required to conduct home-based teaching and learning (PdPR) to ensure learning continuity during the closure.
"Teachers and support staff would work from home throughout the closure, subject to current instructions and operational needs," she said.
Parents and guardians were advised to follow official updates from the department, particularly on when schools and educational institutions would reopen.
"Parents and guardians are also advised not to make any assumptions about the reopening of schools and to refer only to official announcements from the department and MoE," she added.
Schools were also told to continue monitoring the situation and prioritise the safety, health and welfare of students and education personnel.
In Melaka, state Education, Higher Education and Religious Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Rahmad Mariman said all schools under MOE would be closed tomorrow after API readings in key areas of the state exceeded 150.
He said the decision followed continuous monitoring by the Melaka Education Department and official reports from the Department of Environment. - NST
