MCA and Gerakan bound to lose to DAP, says Ibrahim Ali

Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali added to writing on the wall for BN component parties - MCA and Gerakan - telling them they were bound to lose to the DAP.

The ultra Malay rights rabble-rouser was trying to tell MCA's Chua Soi Lek and Gerakan's Koh Tsu Koon, with whom he has a running battle - to not be funny as they need the votes of the Malay community to win their seats.

And the Malay community would not vote for them if they offended Perkasa.

“Now, all the Chinese votes will go to DAP. A good example is the Sarawak election. But if they remedy this, and they can at least win 90 per cent of Malay votes and one-third of Chinese votes, they have a chance. If not, they have no hope,” Ibrahim told a press conference on Monday.

In Malay votes is their salvation

His rationale was that the Chinese had long abandoned MCA and Gerakan, who could now only win in mixed seats with the support of UMNO and Malay leaders such as himself.

According to him, MCA or Gerakan would not stand a chance against the DAP in seats with 70 per cent Chinese voters and above. They could only win in seats with at least 65 per cent Malay majority.

“If they still do not know how to play the political game. Sometimes offending the Malays and crossing swords with Perkasa, then the Malay votes at least from Perkasa members, you see their behaviour in the next election,” said the rotund 60-year old, who has been accused of being a racist.

Earlier on, he had called former Bar Council president Ambiga Sreenevasan "uncouth" for seeking an audience with the King before making a decision on the July 9 Bersih rally.

  1. Yes, that's right, Ibrahim. MCA and Gerakan no longer represent the Chinese here. Wait till the election comes. They will go into oblivion.
