SIPITANG: Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) says Sipitang is having an upsurge increased of population partly triggered off by PETRONAS SAMUR (Ammonia and Urea) Project somehow created impression more to outsiders rather than local Sipitang said, Haji Amde Sidik the Deputy President of SAPP.
“SAMUR project attract commercial activities but this is where the local are very poorly prepared for. Look at vegetables and fruits sellers now dominated by Indonesians by origin, just watch in every of our tamus-weekly markets, whilst on the seathey are another group of foreigners who are more daring you,” Amde said.
Amde is also the Chairman for SAPP Sindumin CLC N28, explained among others to help local, for example, in our SAPP Manifesto which is going to be launched at our forthcoming Congress, on 3rd of June, an introduction of Sabah Identity Card he said, when he gave a talk at Kampong Merintaman about 4km from Sipitang town recently.
This is a way to differentiate between Malaysians of Sabahans by origin and the new Malaysians who are not Sabahans, one may be of Peninsula by birthbut qualified to be Sabahans’IC holders by virtues of their long stay or other status.
Holder of an IC would help differentiate Sabahans with the rest and this would ease local fear that they’re all lumpwith the Putra Jaya MyKads holders, especially when comes to providing State facilities, like medical-look at those queuing at our Government hospitals, also IC would help determined when buying native lands, award scholarship, welfare benefits and others.
Among those attended at the talk were Sindumin CLC Deputy Chairman Kamis Daming, Sarudin Maidan, Treasurer Sarudin Maidin and some Sindumin CLC Committee members
Local Sipitang folks who are interested in getting involved in the SAMUR project, can get training before the project is officially launched so that they may get absorbed as trained workers.
ReplyDeleteIf SAMUR cannot get enough local workers, they will need to hire foreign workers. I hope local unemployed folks will take this opportunity to get a job.
ReplyDeleteMay be but need to limit. Local workers must be the 1st priority.
ReplyDeleteKemasukan warga asing perlu dikawal.
