Baharudin died of natural causes, rules court
The Kuala Lumpur Coroner’s Court today ruled that the death of taxi driver and PAS member Baharudin Ahmad during the Bersih 2.0 rally last July 9 year, was due to natural causes.
Coroner Zulkipli Abdullah ruled out any foul play, but found that there was presence of tear gas and chemical laced water in the vicinity in the vicinity of the victim at the time of the incident.
The coroner also noted that the police had committed violent acts on that day, based on the witnesses’ testimonies.
"However, there is no statement or evidence that the victim had been struck by tear gas or chemical laced water, or that he had been assaulted.
"Following this, the court rules that he died of natural causes, which was listed in the post mortem as heart attack," said Zulkipli .
A total of 35 witnesses testified throughout the inquest.
Lawyer Ahmad Jufliz Faiza represented Baharudin's family. Conducting officer Ahmad Ishrakh Saad assisted coroner Zulkipli in the inquest.
