Member of Parliament for Shah Alam, Khalid Samad does not discount the possibility that the individual who had stepped on the pictures of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor could have been "arranged and paid" by Umno in order to create a issue to blame Pakatan Rakyat (PR).
“There is strong possibility that UMNO could have "hired and paid" this individual to create a provocation and to make it a big political issue,” when contacted by The Malaysian Insider last night.
Khalid warned UMNO leaders not to point their fingers and blame immediately at Pakatan Rakyat (PR) without having a thorough investigation on the picture stepping issue that took place at the ”Janji Bersih” event at Dataran Merdeka on the eve night of Merdeka Day.
Khalid's picture was also stepped on in 2009 by Pro-UMNO Malay NGOs' during the "Cow-Head" incident at bangunan Setiausaha Kerajaan (SUK) Selangor to protest the relocation of a Hindu temple to their area. Surprisingly, NO ACTION WAS TAKEN against anyone or was it made a political issue.
“PAS leadership and myself condemn this action of stepping on the PM's picture while UMNO must make a thorough investigation before pointing a finger and blame Pakatan Rakyat for the incident" Khalid said.
